The St Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) is upgrading the air conditioning system at Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport.
The St Kitts airport upgrade includes the installation of ten air handlers and a new condensing unit. Although the project began in May, it has encountered delays due to supply chain challenges. Installation of the condensing unit began on August 13, and the unit is currently subject to evaluations and inspections.
Airport operator SCASPA has provided a secondary air conditioning unit for the duration of the installation period. Safety and security measures are also in place to minimise the risk of incidents or security breaches. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
