Chinese-speaking shopping assistants will help break down language barriers and make it easier for Chinese guests to enjoy their time at the Bavarian airport. The service was previously available from 2015 to 2020 but was suspended temporarily because of the pandemic.
The assistants can also assist Chinese travellers with additional questions about security checks, customs clearance and VAT refunds. This service is provided by Terminal 2 Gesellschaft, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Munich Airport.
Shopping assistants can be contacted on the spur of the moment at the airport or booked in advance by calling a mobile number during service hours.
Ivonne Kuger, managing director of Terminal 2 Gesellschaft, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome more passengers from China again and to offer them this exclusive service in our terminal.”
There are currently 24 flights a week between China and Munich, which serves the airports of Shanghai and Beijing.
