Riyadh-headquartered Ink Arabia will operate across airports, airlines, smart cities, rail, and sea ports, the new partners said.
The joint venture will leverage Ink’s expertise in providing web-based, cloud-integrated departure control and other systems, mobile, self-service solutions, and biometrics. Travel solutions specialist LPort, meanwhile, brings a proven track record in implementing services such as home check-in and processing passengers at their location.
Harmen Brenninkmeijer, president and chief development officer of Ink Innovation, described the joint venture as ‘a strategic step forward in transforming the travel technology landscape, addressing the unique needs of the Saudi market’.
“Our collaboration goes beyond merging resources,” said Mohammed Al-Moaither, CEO of LPort. “It's about creating forward-thinking solutions that anticipate and exceed the needs of the travel industry.”
Leadership team
The JV leadership team will involve Mohammed Al-Moaither as chief operating officer, working alongside Javed Malik, who leads the consultancy services at Ink+, as managing partner.
“We will focus on enhancing the integration of airport and urban experiences, driving critical initiatives like ‘Pax without Bags' and others. By leveraging local talent and expertise, we aim to transform the traveller’s journey and elevate Saudi Arabia's position as a global aviation technology leader,” said Malik, who will oversee strategic development and growth initiatives at Ink Arabia.
