London Luton Airport has deployed AeroCloud’s common use passenger processing system (CUPPS) to enhance operational efficiency, flexibility, and the passenger experience

London Luton Airport’s legacy systems were struggling to support increasing passenger volumes and the airport’s ambitious expansion goals, prompting the airport to issue a ten-der in late 2023 calling for a solution that could replace its outdated common use system without disrupting daily operations.

Luton chose AeroCloud’s cloud-based, hardware-agnostic system for its cost efficiency, reduced hardware dependency and spaced optimisation. The system is also known for its operational flexibility and ability to enhance the passenger experience, AeroCloud said.

The new system was implemented during a busy half-term holiday, with Luton and AeroCloud collaborating closely to ensure a smooth transition. “The key to success was detailed planning and regular communication with all stakeholders,” said a representative of the airport.

George Richardson, founder and CEO of AeroCloud, added: “By replacing outdated legacy systems with our passenger processing platform, London Luton Airport has shown that even an airport of this scale can make a seamless transition to modern technology. We thank LTN for its trust in AeroCloud.”
