Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has appointed two new members to its leadership team
Jim Lovewell has been appointed assistant director of airline affairs, marketing and communications, overseeing the Marketing and Communications and Air Service departments. Alex Kovacs will fill the assistant director of construction and finance role, leading the Design and Construction and Finance teams.
“Jim and Alex are great additions to an already stellar team, and I’m looking forward to their leadership of our business administration departments. As the airport grows, adding these two key roles will support our ability to manage that growth effectively,” said Greg Phillips, director of aviation for COS.
Jim Lovewell joins COS from the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and EDC (economic development corporation), where he served as the chief operating officer. Lovewell spent 24 years with the US Air Force and has since managed a broad spectrum of aviation projects and operations.
Alex Kovacs has a wealth of aviation experience, having served in various roles at Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority over the past 16 years. He was responsible for finance, budget, and risk management at the airport authority, and is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
Both new hires will join Brett Miller, the assistant director of aviation for operations and maintenance, in supporting the growth and development at COS.
