McCourt said: “I’m excited to be starting as the new CEO of Sustainable Aviation. The industry has already made significant progress on the journey to net zero, but there is a long way further to go. The industry and government are committed to going the distance on this and I look forward to playing my part in bringing the two together, along with other stakeholders, to deliver a genuinely sustainable future for aviation.”
Neil Robinson, chair of Sustainable Aviation, said: “We are thrilled that Duncan has joined Sustainable Aviation as its first chief executive, at this critical time for the UK’s aviation sector and as we look to drive forward progress achieving net zero carbon emissions and lowering our environmental impact.
As a coalition Sustainable Aviation has grown rapidly. The appointment of our first chief executive will help further accelerate progress and Duncan brings with him extensive experience of government and the political process, knowledge that will be crucial as we work in partnership with government.”
