Air traffic control services provider NATS has appointed Richard Ellis as its new airspace users director.
Richard Ellis will lead the team delivering services and technology-based products to customers around the world, focusing on drones and eVTOL operations, integrated traffic management solutions and high altitude and space users as the market develops.
Ellis brings with him a wealth of business development and leadership experience, joining NATS from the unified traffic management (UTM) company Altitude Angel, where he was chief business officer. Prior to joining Altitude Angel, he was VP worldwide customer success at AirMap, a global leader in airspace management software systems for drones. Ellis’s earlier career covered a variety of senior leadership and commercial roles across a range of industries.
Guy Adams, NATS Services managing director, said: “Supporting the growth of new airspace users through the development of innovative products and services is one of our key strategic commercial priorities. I’m certain Richard will have a major contribution to make as we continue to grow and develop our business.”
Richard Ellis added: "I am delighted to be joining NATS in this new pivotal role. There is now a transformative opportunity to create new services and operating models for new airspace users over the coming years. I’m looking forward to the challenge and to meeting with our partners and customers in the UK and around the world."
