Çelebi India has begun providing ground-handling services at Chennai International Airport.

The Turkish ground handling services company has installed new, modern infrastructure at the airport, and will have a team of 750 employees by the end of the year to handle scheduled and non-scheduled services using both the domestic and international terminals.

US Bangla Airlines and YTO Cargo recently signed a contract with Çelebi to look after their ground handling requirements at the Tamil Nadu airport.

Chennai is the ninth airport in India for Çelebi after the company established operations at Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Goa (Manohar International Airport, Mopa), and Kannur.

Tauseef Khan, CEO of Ground Handling Çelebi India, said: "We recognise the importance of Chennai Airport as a key gateway for travellers, and we are excited to contribute to its growth and efficiency.
