Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has signed the largest cleaning contract in its history, appointing a new cleaning and minor maintenance service provider.
Trident Services Australia will be responsible for cleaning at Brisbane’s Domestic Terminal, International Terminal, Carparks, BNE Service Centre, Kingsford Smith Memorial, Airport Operations Centre, Airport Freight Centre, General Aviation Terminal, Skygate Shopping Centre, DFO Carparks and BAC administration offices.
The contract also involves street sweeping parts of the BNE precinct, where 24,000 people come to work each day, and 60,000 travellers pass through.
“Ensuring our facilities are clean and safe is of the highest importance to us,” said Krishan Tangri, executive general manager infrastructure & planning at Brisbane Airport Corporation.
“In 2022, Brisbane Airport won the Skytrax Airport Award for The Cleanest Airport and this is certainly an area we take pride in. We look forward to working with Trident Services Australia to maintain high standards across the airport.”
Trident has been providing quality facilities management services to the retail, commercial and aviation sectors for the past 25 years, and currently services 12 airports.
Training centre at BNE
Trident Services Australia is also creating Queensland’s first purpose built and dedicated Training Centre for cleaners at Brisbane Airport (BNE).
Nick Athan-Iksidis, head of cleaning – aviation at Trident Services, said, “The custom-made Training Centre will provide front line personnel with practical hands-on experience before they arrive on site, proving quality cleaning outcomes and standards.
“Additionally, the dedicated Trident site management team is passionate about driving the service offering towards continuous improvements in the areas of sustainability, safety and efficiency, keeping people and property safe.”
The contract will run from October 1, 2023 until at least 2026.
