Ferrovial Airports has appointed Shawn Kinder global corporate development and strategy director, to lead the next phase of the company’s growth.
Shawn Kinder has more than 20 years of international experience in the industry and will lead Ferrovial’s Airport division as it works to expand its worldwide presence and promote the sustainable, efficient, and safe facilitation of air travel. In his new role, to be based in the Netherlands, Kinder will report to Ferrovial Airports CEO Luke Bugeja.
Most recently, Shawn Kinder has helped build the aviation financial advisory practice at Solomon Partners, where he advised Aecon on the sale of a participation in the Bermuda LF Wade International Airport, and assisted an airline on its financial partnership in a new terminal development. He previously spent 19 years at aviation advisory firm Ricondo, working on several of the world’s largest infrastructure development and business planning efforts, at airports such as Chicago O’Hare, Abu Dhabi, Manchester, Nairobi, and Keflavík,
while advising investors and government agencies on transactions in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe. Kinder has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Purdue University and Northwestern University.
“Shawn brings a wealth of international experience and in-depth knowledge in some of the world’s most competitive aviation markets. He will be instrumental in our ambitions to be a leader in driving the growth of our business, which provides high-quality infrastructure that facilitates air travel to millions of people, now and in the future. I am delighted to welcome him to our team,” said Luke Bugeja.
Kinder said of his appointment: “Ferrovial Airports today is a culmination of deep, historical sector expertise with a recognition that successful aviation infrastructure is aligned with its users’ needs.
“The diversity of the existing portfolio reflects this, and we will focus on recognising that all airports are local, no matter their level of connectivity to the world. I am extremely excited to join Luke and the team and work closely with our airline, airport, community, and investment partners.”
