Hactl – Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited – has recently received two nods for its sustainability initiatives.
The company has received both the Transport and Logistics gold award in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), and Hong Kong Green Organisation Certification (HKGOC).
The HKAEE aims to promote the adoption of green management in business. The scheme provides benchmarking against best practice, and recognises the best-performing companies and organisations. HKGOC, meanwhile, benchmarks organisations’ green management, encourages environmental practices, and recognises environmental achievements and commitment.
Both the award and certification schemes are operated by the Environmental Campaign Committee.
Hactl executive director and chief financial officer Amy Lam received the award from Tse Chin-wan, secretary for environment and ecology, at a ceremony attended by senior representatives of Hong Kong industry, commerce and government.
Lam said, “The environment is a primary focus in every aspect of Hactl’s business, and sustainable behaviour is now embedded in every decision we take and everything we do. Our staff have truly taken this guiding principle to their hearts, and I am therefore delighted to share the award and certification with them, as recognition of their strong commitment.”
Hactl previously received the HKAEE Transport and Logistics silver award in 2014, and the gold award in 2015.
