Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has ordered 26 zero-emission buses from ElDorado National (California), Inc (ENC), a subsidiary of REV Group.
The newly ordered fleet includes 22 of ENC’s 40ft Axess CNG-powered buses and four of its new 40ft Axess EVO-BE battery electric buses.
DFW, one of the largest airports in the world, is the first carbon neutral airport in North America, and these new ENC buses are part of its ongoing efforts to maintain this status. The fleet, ordered through Creative Bus Sales, ENC’s largest dealer in North America, is expected to be delivered to DFW in Summer 2023.
ENC’s Axess platform features a low floor, making it an ideal choice for airports, according to the manufacturer. Axess buses are in operation at 33 airports across the United States. The new Axess EVO-BE is the next generation in ENC’s line of zero-emission batter electric buses,
purpose built for all transit and shuttle applications, and available with an industry-leading 738kWh of battery energy storage, the company said.
ENC recently announced its next generation of battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric buses, which feature a common structural platform, propulsion system and technologies, with over 90% commonality. This provides a simpler solution in terms of aftermarket support, employee training and maintenance.
