More than 100 employees of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol partners are assisting at the Dutch hub over the summer.
Office staff from Vanderlande, Microsoft, Cognizant, Aboma, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management will be available throughout the terminal to answer travellers’ questions. BAM and Heijmans staff are participating in the scheme, too.
Schiphol office staff have also been deployed to the terminal. The airport has created a group called the Flamingos, which consists of office staff assigned to assist with the passenger or baggage process at least once a week in the period from July 1 to September 4. The partners’ office staff have now joined the Flamingos. All Flamingos receive extensive training and travellers can recognise them by their bright pink vests. Flamingos without a Schiphol Pass can only work in public areas.
“It’s heart-warming to see that large numbers of our partners’ office staff want to help out in the terminal. We are happy to accept that help with both hands. This not only helps travellers but also eases our staff’s workload. We are very grateful,” said Patricia Vitalis, director of airport operations at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
