American Airlines is preparing to break ground on a new 15,000ft2 Admirals Club at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas.
Construction on the new lounge near Gate 14 will begin next year. Able to seat more than 250 customers, it will be the largest airport lounge in Austin.
The inspiration for the lounge is taken from the city itself, reflecting the urban fabric of Rainey Street, Austin Parks, and local art and music. Once open, customers will also be entertained by local musicians. The existing Admirals Club will remain fully operational while the new club is being constructed.
Clarissa Sebastian, managing director of premium customer experience and onboard products at American Airlines, said: “Austin has such a unique energy, with its fascinating mix of technology and arts. American wants to create a club that reflects that eclectic style and pays homage to the lively music scene. We can’t wait for customers to experience the new space, with much more room to relax, unwind and enjoy.”
American’s Admirals Club lounges are membership-based lounges that include access to more than 60 Admirals Clubs and partner lounges worldwide. Customers travelling on an American Airlines or oneworld alliance ticketed flight may also purchase a day pass to an Admirals Club. The lounges feature complimentary amenities such as food and beverages, Wi-Fi, digital magazines and newspapers, as well as services including personal travel assistance, business centres and kids rooms.
