New relationship means the cargo handling service can increase its presence in Pakistan
Menzies Aviation has announced the acquisition of a 51% shareholding in Royal Airport Services (RAS), a Pakistan-based aviation service.
The new deal offers Menzies the opportunity to integrate into the growing Pakistan aviation services market.
“We are delighted to be partnered with Royal Airport Services, the leading aviation services company in Pakistan,” said Philipp Joeinig, Executive Chairman of Menzies, “The acquisition is in line with our global strategy to offer our service portfolio to new markets and we believe that a presence in Pakistan will provide a strong platform for further regional growth opportunities.”
RAS has been in operation since 2007, therefore claiming a strong position in its local markets. Services provided by the company include ground and cargo handling, airline ticketing and cargo sales across Pakistan.
“Menzies/RAS Pakistan will provide the best in class international operating standards to the eight airports in which we operate at in Pakistan,” said Shujaat Azeem, Chairman of Royal Airport Services. “This will enhance the passenger experience, improve air cargo connectivity and support tourism growth in the country.”
Handling both domestic and international carriers across eight airports, RAS revenue was in excess of $20m in 2019.
