Farnborough International Airshow - CANCELLED
One of the biggest aviation trade shows in the world returns this summer at Farnborough Airport near London.
The Farnborough International Airshow is as historic an event in aviation as it gets. It's first annual show took place in September 1948 and has seen the likes of the Avro Vulcan, Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde, Airbus A380, Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Hawker Siddeley Harrier demonstrated over its skies when they were once aircraft in development.
Now held every two years, the 2018 show saw a mass of airliner orders, the debut of the Mitsubishi MRJ (now named SpaceJet), along with the official unveiling of Team Tempest under the UK's Combat Air Strategy programme, which has since been joined by Sweden and Italy. Surprises definitely lay in store for the future of aviation in the 2020 show.
2018 also marked the end of the airshow's weekend public days, leaving just the Friday for the general public to gain admission into Farnborough Airport. The day includes special features and aviation inspired events for young people.
