SIXT USA has marked a major milestone with the opening of its 50th airport location, at John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, California.
The new branch, located on the arrival level between Terminals A and B, strengthens the company’s footprint in the United States, the world’s largest car rental market and a key growth driver for the Germany-based mobility provider.
The location is part of the greater Los Angeles area, one of the most significant car rental markets in the country.
Since its US debut in 2011, SIXT has become a prominent player in the competitive car rental sector, operating more than 100 locations across 25 states.
In 2023, SIXT's US operations generated over €1 billion in revenue, more than doubling since 2019. This success has continued into 2024, with revenue up by over 20% in the first nine months of the year.
Globally, SIXT operates more than 2,000 branches in over 100 countries, generating €3.62 billion in revenue in 2023. Founded in Munich in 1912, the company remains at the forefront of innovation and service in the car rental industry.
Tom Kennedy, president, SIXT North America, said: “The opening of our 50th US airport location underscores the successful growth of SIXT and there is more to come.
“Demand for our premium offerings is high, which demonstrates putting the customer at the centre of everything we do has paid off.
“SIXT is dedicated to serving business and leisure travellers in the markets and destinations that matter most to them and our new John Wayne Airport branch and continued expansion across North America reinforces that commitment.”
Charlene Reynolds, airport director, John Wayne Airport, added: “We are pleased to welcome SIXT to John Wayne Airport as they reach this exciting milestone.
“Their commitment to quality and variety in transportation options enhances the experience for travellers in Orange County, adding convenience and style for both business and leisure guests.
