The director of corporate affairs at Royal Schiphol Group, Kees Boef, is to step down from the role in September.
Boef is taking on a new position at strategic consultancy firm Teneo, where he will be CEO Netherlands.
The senior executive became the director of corporate affairs at Schiphol on 1 October 2018, overseeing public affairs, local community management, communications advice, branding, photo and video production, film recordings, social media and media relations.
CFO Robert Carsouw said: “Kees has been director during a very remarkable period that has included, among other things, COVID-19 and an operational crisis. He and his department made an important contribution to operational recovery, partly thanks to successful traveller campaigns.
“He also made a major contribution to policy-making around noise reduction measures for the local area. For that and a great deal of other work, we are extremely grateful. We wish him every success in his next challenge.”
Boef added: “Schiphol is a very special organisation to work for. Working here, you are part of important societal discussions.
“Schiphol is extremely important for a lot of people. For the millions of travellers, tens of thousands of employees, companies at and around the airport, local residents and airlines.
“To be involved in all that, with colleagues in the department and elsewhere, is unique.”
Schiphol’s executive team has begun the process of recruiting a successor.
