Menzies Aviation has agreed to acquire a majority stake in ground services companies based in Montenegro and Serbia.
The UK-headquartered firm is to acquire 70% of Fly Montenegro Ground Handling, Montenegro and Flystar Aviation Services, Serbia, which provide ground services at three airports.
Fly Montenegro Ground Handling provides ground services at Podgorica Airport and Tivat Airport, while Flystar Aviation Services provides ground services at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
Entering emerging aviation markets is a strategic priority for Menzies and this acquisition provides an opportunity to enter two countries which have the potential for long-term growth, the company said.
Menzies’ initial focus will be on increasing the scope of services provided at the three airports and attracting new customers to its portfolio, while also maintaining existing customer relationships.
