Munich Airport subsidiary MAI will help drive the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which ceased operations in December 2022

Munich Airport International (MAI), the wholly owned consulting subsidiary of Munich Airport, will provide operational and management services to airport operator FlyDoncaster, which is owned by the City of Doncaster Council.

Together with FP Airports, a UK-based aviation specialist, MAI will help drive forward the reopening of the former Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) in spring 2026.

Lorenzo di Loreto, managing director of Munich Airport International, said: “We are proud to be part of the re-opening of DSA. We are committed to sharing our expertise to help develop DSA into a passenger friendly and competitive airport and an engine of social, economic and environmental growth for Doncaster and the wider region.“
