Elevator and escalator specialist Kone Corporation is to supply a suite of its People Flow solutions for Xi’an Xianyang International Airport in China.
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is located in Xixian New District, northwest of Xi'an, 26km from Xi'an city centre and 13km from Xianyang city centre. The third phase of its development will give the airport the capacity to serve 83 million passengers and one million tonnes of cargo and mail a year by 2030.
Kone's delivery will include 163 MonoSpace elevators and 43 TranSys elevators. In addition, the contract includes Kone E-Link remote monitoring and a two-year standard maintenance service provision.
"We are proud to be part of this ambitious project. Due to the high volumes of passengers passing through the airport every day, high equipment availability is essential. We are excited that our people flow solutions will help millions of people move safely and comfortably,” said Joe Bao, Kone executive vice president of Greater China.
The main contractor is Western Airport Group and the lead architects are China Architecture Northwest Design and Research Institute. The project is expected to be completed during 2024.
