Kansai Airports will launch a mobility assistance service for wheelchair users on passenger flights taking off and landing at KIX Terminal 1

Effective August 1, 2024 at Kansai International Airport (KIX), the service is the first of its kind among Japanese airport operators. The airport will arrange wheelchairs and provide wheelchair mobility support in response to passengers’ requests via airlines and ground handling companies.

Kansai Airports Group believes that this consolidated process could help airlines and ground handling companies alleviate manpower shortages. Kansai Airports will continue to work with stakeholders to address issues and improve the convenience of the airport, while providing new travel experiences that are safe, secure, and comfortable, it said.
