Indra Group has approved the appointment following an extraordinary meeting, in which Marc Murtra formally resigned as director and executive chairman

Ángel Escribano Ruiz has been appointed executive chairman of the board of directors, with the same executive functions within the corporate and institutional fields as those held by his predecessor, Marc Murtra. As chairman, Escribano will work closely with Indra Group chief executive officer José Vicente de los Mozos.

Alongside his father and brother Javier, in 1989 Ángel Escribano founded Mecanizados Escribano, now known as Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E Group). As chairman, Escribano worked with his brother to reshape the company. Established to manufacture mechanical parts according to third-party specifications, it now designs, develops and manufactures complex defence systems such as remote-control weapon stations, electro-optical systems and guided ammunition kits. Ángel Escribano has worked in virtually every operational area of the company, completing his training in different departments, from CNC machine operation to commercial management, as well as different tasks in operations planning and quality management.

He is a member of the board of directors of TESS Defence and SMS.

Escribano’s predecessor Marc Murtra left Indra Group to join Telefónica as director and executive chairman.
