The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority board of directors has announced Delta Air Lines as the anchor tenant for Airside D
The agreement recognises Delta as the key airline committed to using gates in the new Airside. Being built at a cost of $1.5bn, it will be the first new Airside at Tampa International Airport (TPA) in nearly 20 years. Scheduled to open in 2028, the Airside will be a state-of-the-art, 16-gate Airside terminal for international and domestic routes.
The contract outlines the anchor tenant’s commitment to occupy at least six gates in Airside D and operate a lounge space on the building’s Mezzanine level. Delta’s contract term lasts for up to 20 years.
“Delta has been a wonderful partner, one of Tampa International Airport’s longest operating and largest air carriers, and we’re thrilled to now extend that partnership to TPA’s future Airside D,” airport CEO Joe Lopano said. “This agreement will bring a world-class airline to what will be a world-class facility for our international and domestic routes. We look for-ward to continuing the high standards and excellence of both TPA and Delta as we elevate the travel experience for our guests here in Tampa Bay.”
Delta currently operates out of six gates and a Delta Sky Club located on Airside E.
