Hactl (Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited) has organised a week-long exhibition and educational talks on menstrual equity in the workplace.
Held at Hactl’s SuperTerminal 1 base in collaboration with charitable organisation Free Periods Hong Kong, the event follows the launch of the “Hactl x Free Periods Hong Kong – Be My Buddy” campaign earlier this year.
Over 150 Hactl staff attended the exhibition on its first day, learning through 28 interactive displays about menstrual health, the need to break down taboos on menstruation, and how to build a gender-equal workspace.
Representatives from local NGOs and social enterprises including New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, St. James’ Settlement Jockey Club Upcycling Centre, The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council and Hello Cocoa also participated in the exhibition.
Hactl staff also attended two talks given by Free Periods Hong Kong on “Menstrual equity & period poverty in Hong Kong” during the exhibition. Through real-life case studies and video clips, Zoe Chan, co-founder of Free Periods Hong Kong, shared her insights on period poverty, and introduced a variety of menstrual care products.
As the campaign’s lead sponsor, Hactl will continue to work with Free Periods Hong Kong to further promote period-friendly concepts and gender equality in schools and the wider community.
