Gdansk Airport has been certified by the ACA at Level One, known as Mapping. The programme consists of seven levels, with each successive level imposing further tasks for airports to complete.
The airport has committed to and is performing actions to reduce its environmental impact, while monitoring its carbon footprint. It has also committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
“I am delighted that we can proudly announce our first certification in the ACA Carbon Accreditation Program. This is another step we are taking towards the sustainable development of our airport,” said Tomasz Kloskowski, president of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport.
The Carbon Accreditation Program is run by the Airports Council International (ACI). It has already attracted more than 600 airports, among them major hubs such as London Heathrow International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
