Malaysia ARCC, in partnership with IT specialist Mesiniaga Berhad, has implemented the Frequentis Liberty-STAR IV voice communication system (VCS)

Frequentis Canada played a key role in the project, providing the delivery, installation, and commissioning of the Liberty-STAR IV voice communication system (VCS) and recorders at six critical locations: Subang, Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Kuching, Tawau, and Kuala Terengganu. This installation represents the debut of the latest Liberty-STAR IV VCS model in Malaysia and the first deployment within an Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC).

The upgraded solution has also been installed in the United States and Jamaica. According to Frequentis, its IP-centric design ensures future-proofing, making it a sustainable investment for critical communication needs.

“I’m thrilled to have collaborated on this project with Malaysia ARCC and Mesiniaga Berhad. Implementing the Liberty-STAR IV VCS not only enhances efficiency but also underscores our dedication to delivering innovative technologies that make a tangible difference in saving lives,” said Gerald Mohnl, Frequentis director ATM communication.

Each site is equipped with two controller working positions and two management terminals, managed by a central system for robust communications. Seven internet-based interfaces and a versatile gateway facilitate smooth voice communications, and advanced recording ensures thorough communication logging.

“The deployment of Frequentis’ Liberty-STAR IV VCS at our ARCC sites is a significant advancement in our communication capabilities. The system’s reliability and speed are crucial for our operations, and we are confident that this upgrade will significantly enhance our response times and coordination efficiency,” said Remyizam Mohd Mahadzir, general manager, Mesiniaga Berhad.
