The Gerald R Ford International Airport Authority has boosted its senior leadership team with the appointment of Maria Kim as chief financial officer.
Kim brings a background in aeronautical revenue along with 10 years’ experience in strategic planning, data analysis and financial forecasting and modelling to her new role. As CFO, she will provide leadership, oversight and strategic direction for the finance, procurement, technology and risk management departments. She will also be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the airport authority and compliance with all accounting and financial reporting standards.
“Maria’s leadership experience and background in finance within the airport industry will be incredibly valuable to our organisation,” said Ford International Airport Authority president and CEO Tory Richardson. “She has an impressive history collaborating across teams to maximise revenue and return on investment. We are thrilled to welcome Maria to the authority’s senior leadership team.”
Kim joins from Fraport USA where she served as director of financial analysis and reporting, responsible for budgeting, forecasting and business development. Prior to that, she served as director of revenue and operations for Fraport, where she managed the concessions portfolio at Nashville International Airport.
Before joining Fraport, Kim was manager of revenue development at Allegheny County Airport Authority in Pittsburgh. In this role, she was key to revenue strategy development and operations for a $1.3bn upgrade to the main terminal.
Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in extension studies in Business Management from Harvard University.
