Electric vehicle charging solutions specialist bp pulse has announced plans to establish a Gigahub network near US airports.
The network will consist of a series of large, EV fast-charging hubs designed to serve ride-hail and taxi fleets. The first location is to be built near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in collaboration with Hertz and is partially funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC).
The CEC is providing a $2m grant award to support the proposed project near LAX, and bp pulse is to lead the installation and management of the charging infrastructure, including the use of its proprietary Omega charge management software that optimises the cost of charging. According to the plans, the first bp pulse Gigahub will be on Hertz property near LAX.
