Airside solutions specialist ADB Safegate will supply the airfield ground lighting (AGL) system at Bhogapuram Airport

Belgium-headquartered ADB Safegate, in partnership with Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), will deploy its latest Airside 4.0 technology, including advanced LED AGL systems, at Bhogapuram Airport. The new greenfield airport, being built by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Ltd (GVIAL) in Andhra Pradesh, India, will benefit from solutions such as ADB Safegate’s AXON lights and LINC 360 integrated light control and monitoring system (ILCMS).

The relationship between ADB Safegate and L&T is longstanding with successful collaborations in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Navi Mumbai. Similarly, ADB Safegate has a proven track record with GMR Group, contributing to projects in Hyderabad and New Delhi airports.

Bhartendu Mohan, country director for India at ADB Safegate, said: “Bhogapuram marks another new landmark project with L&T and GMR. We are thrilled to bring our latest Airside 4.0 technology to the Bhogapuram Airport project. This innovative solution will not only enhance the airport’s operational efficiency but also set new standards for safety and sustainability in the aviation industry. We look forward to delivering exceptional results for this project.”

The project is expected to be completed within 12-14 months, with the airport anticipated to be operational by the end of 2025.
