Philip Weissman has been appointed to the board of directors of the Advanced Air Mobility Institute
Weissman, a graduate of Duke University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate (2012) and Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts (2008), brings experience and expertise in aviation law and advanced air mobility, further strengthening the AAM Institute’s mission to promote the safe and equitable development of AAM technologies, it said.
“Advanced Air Mobility offers the promise of improving lives around the globe by providing a sustainable and equitable means of transportation, inspiring young scientists and engineers, and encouraging us all to dream of a future that until now seemed impossible,” said Philip Weissman.
“The Advanced Air Mobility Institute is an organisation that promotes the safe and equitable development of [AAM]. It is with great honour and respect that I join the Institute’s board of directors. Through this role, I aim to continue promoting the development of the advanced air mobility industry for the greater good and look forward to working with industry leaders to ensure that advanced air mobility lives up to its promise of making the world a better place and inspiring us all to achieve the impossible.”
Weissman is the founder and principal of Philip R Weissman, and founder of Advanced Air Mobility Professionals. He serves as the co-chair of the New York City Bar Aviation and Space Law Committee and is on the Leadership Board of the International Bar Association Aviation Committee. Recognised as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Aviation Law from 2020 to 2023, Weissman is a thought leader in emerging aviation technology, including AAM and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
